as disciples of Christ

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Thoughts To Ponder

A person may go to heaven without health, without riches, without honors, without learning, without friends; but he can never go there

Obligations to the Truth

The first obligation that every sincere and honest man has concerning the truth is to know it. There can be no benefits derived from the truth unless he knows and recognizes truth. No other obligation can be fulfilled until one come to a knowledge of what is truth. One's own interests in self, honesty with one's self, should demand of every individual in his own heart that he know the truth.

A knowledge of the truth in religion is of more importance than anywhere else in life. Here it concerns our spiritual good, our salvation depends on it, and the hope of life with God in eternity. Since the soul is man's greatest and most valuable possession, truth is life's greatest need. We must determine to know the truth! Error will only further enslave our souls and hearts and bind us with fetters that truth alone can unloose.

God holds men responsible for a knowledge of the truth. Jesus taught this fact when He said, "Because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: for this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted and I should heal them" (Matthew 13:13‑15). This put the responsibility upon the hearer. He alone is responsible for the attitude of heart that prevents the Word of God from planting faith in his heart and bringing him into submission to the will of the Master. Such a hearer has robbed himself of salvation and the blessings of divine truth.
